Celebrity Residential Client: Noah came to our training as their dog walker refused to walk him, his lead work was none existent and refused to retrieve a ball.
"We just wanted to say a huge thanks for having Noah and treating him like family the whole time he was with you. The photos and video updates were great and we could see how well he was getting on and actually enjoying himself!
He’s already noticeably better on the lead and is quick to realise when he’s being told of for pulling. His response to commands has also improved hugely, he goes to his bed when he’s told and even plays fetch properly now (rather than just running away with the ball!)"
(for a premier league football player to finally get to play ball with his dog was the icing on the cake for us here at Foxhope)
It’s amazing to know he will always have a holiday home in Scotland which he has clearly loved being at!

1-2-1 client: I’ve now being training with Emma for a year.
I went to Emma with my 2 year old Labrador bitch. Emma directed me toward gundog training giving my dog a purpose which tackled my initial problem of reactivity and anxiety.
She showed me dog training isn’t a quick fix and worked with me to really get to the root of the anxiety showing me that my dog needed a purpose and I would never have been able to predict the result.
When we first started training my dog
- spat dummies
- gun shy (would run back to my car and hide)
- over stimulated easily
- reactive toward other dogs
- nervous of crowds
- pulled on her lead
I’ve now had my dog in large game fair events with lots of people and dogs walking with a loose lead and participated in her first mock test with more tests to come where she preformed like a super star alongside seasoned retrievers and held her own.
Emma is realistic and will be honest with you about what you and your dog need.
From doing 1-2-1 training I can also tell you if your dog is a resident with Foxhope, your dog will be treated like a member of her family. I met several resident dogs who were living their time at Foxhope.
10/10 cannot recommend her enough. My only regret is not going sooner.

Residential Training Client:
'Before sending thorin to Emma he was an anxiety driven reactive dog with no understanding of how to react to new situations or dogs. Most walks would end in tears and feelings of failure, with various training 'methods' being tested and found to not work. This caused a great deal of confidence loss from myself as the handler, which then reflected further on thorin. During his stay with Emma he was introduced to the pack, and grew within this environment, something I never thought would be achieved. Emma took utmost care ensuring that thorin settled well before introducing any further training so as not to heighten the anxieties he had, and moulded her training to suit his requirements, giving full details of progress, concerns and advice throughout.
Working on heelwork, general manners, and exposure to situations with a firm yet encouraging method, which suited him to a T.
Although the work will be ongoing after his time in her kennels the difference from start to finish is unbelievable, and a feeling of control has been regained.'

Residential Client:
Rex stayed with Emma in 2022 . She had preciously helped me train online before his stay as I had reached out to her as I had a struggled with confidence, been fed advice from people which made our situation worse and to be honest we was a mess.
Rex went for some basic training, his heel work, recall, learning general manners and while he was there Emma touched on some gun-dog training. The difference in Rex in just the short four weeks was incredible so much so I decided to send my second dog Roma and he has just spent four weeks with the foxhope team this year in May 2024.
Roma was slightly further along than Rex to start with because of what I had previously learnt however he was still overstimulated and lacked basic manners. When I say Roma came home a different dog, the growth and confidence he gained while staying with Emma was incredible. He came home so much more level headed and grown up. She progressed his gun dog training, he learnt to trust her and he was capable of retrieves I never thought I would see my dog be able to do.
Emma has an away of understanding dogs, she is firm but fair and with that they give her so so much respect so much so Roma was more than happy to stay there and not come home given the chance.
She works so hard to learn what works for the individual dog in front of her and adapts their training to suit them. She provides regular updates and videos of their training during their stay with is incredible to watch.
Obviously when you come home it’s them up to you to put the work in and continue to progress as this isn’t a quick fix but helps set some incredible foundations.
I would be lost with out the support I have received, Emma has been their for the ups the down and everything in between and I genuinely don’t know if I would even still have my dogs if it wasn’t for her.
Choosing to send Rex away back in 2022 was a really really hard decision for me, it didn’t come easily but it was the best thing I ever did because it truly changed my whole life.
I am so so Grateful that Rex and Roma are part of the foxhope family and I am pretty sure they will both be back to stay in the near future.

Residential Client:We made the very tough decision as dog owners, to reach out to Emma at Foxhope and book a residential spot for Jura. It was one of the best decisions we ever made.
Emma gave us a detailed overview of his training schedule and asked for some detailed history about Jura’s current training that she could use to tailor a training plan to focus on during his stay. In Jura’s case, we desperately needed to work on his anxiety around new situations and other dogs, and his inability to switch off.
On drop off, Emma was keen to get to know us, the struggles we have faced and also learn more about Jura. We felt reassured that he was in good hands.
It's always hard to leave your dog with a stranger, but any concerns quickly passed when we received the first update of how he was settling in. As the messages and videos continued to come in, it was clear Jura had developed an incredible bond with Emma and he was loving his life there.
This was also evident on pickup and the last few updates we received, which showed how much Emma truly loved and cared for a dog she had only known for a month.
We can't thank her enough for taking incredible care of Jura, progressing his training and treating him like one of her own. We have no doubt that we will be sending him back to Emma for some top-up training at some stage. In the meantime, she has given us so much guidance of how to continue his training with us at home.

Puppy Buyer:
Buying a pup of Emma is the easiest and most pleasant process. I spoke to Emma and we had a conversation over what it is I was looking for and the reasons behind wanting a new pup.
Once the pups were born she kept myself and all the other new members of the foxhope puppy families in the loop with regular pictures and updates.
Any questions I had Emma answered in detail without hesitation. She will also be honest with you and ask you any questions she may have…. This is how it should be… this is what a responsible breeder does!
Emma picks the best suited puppies to their new homes, based on what you said you would like out of your new companion. I’d never had pup that I hadn’t picked myself out the litter but after Emma explained the reasons behind why she does it this way it made so much sense!
I said to Emma I was after a dog to work in the field that would hopefully be independent and have the drive!
Boy did she pick well!
The support doesn’t end there! Once I’d taken my pup home, Emma was still loving the pup dates but also still happy to answer any questions that came up!
If your considering adding a new addition to your pack or getting your first dog, I would 110% recommend Emma @ Foxhope Gundogs.

Puppy Buyer:
We were constantly checking the internet for updates on Labrador puppies from a reliable breeder. Lucky for us we came across Foxhope Gundogs. From the start Emma was nothing but amazing. Regular updates to fast responding to messages made our journey stress free and relaxed. I could tell the genuine passion and care she had for dogs instantly, with this I knew I would have ongoing support after we had picked up our boy - Murphy. Emma even worked around us when it came to visiting and was so welcoming. Emma also made sure that we were the perfect match for Murphy and thankfully she picked us. We got married 2 days after Murphy was due to be collected and Emma was happy to accommodate to our situation. Not once were we worried or concerned about him cause we knew Emma would do everything perfect.
Going to now what a journey we’ve had with our boy already. Gorgeous, well tempered & incredibly smart - the list goes on! Regular updates on our Facebook group means we can all stay in touch and watch our puppies develop and grow. It’s been a magical experience.
I would like to thank Emma at Foxhope Gundogs for the role she’s played in our lives, making it possible for us to have such an amazing dog welcomed into our family. No words can explain how extremely grateful we are for everything. Thank you!

Puppy Buyer:
From the first time we spoke to Emma on the phone, we knew she was the breeder for us and that we were going to add a Foxhope Labrador to our family. We visited the puppies a few weeks after they were born, and 18/08/2021 we welcomed Angus to our home.
He is so smart, very talented and was practically house trained upon coming home. Angus is such a relaxed pup who isn’t phased by anything and takes everything in his stride. He also gets along really well with our 2 other dogs.
Emma has always been there to answer all of my questions. She is the most dedicated and caring breeder. We purchased a our other dogs before Angus and have never had this unique relationship with any of the breeders. I am very blessed to have met Emma and to be a part of Foxhope Labrador family.

Puppy Buyer:
"After spending three months contacting breeders to find a Labrador puppy in the UK (living in Spain), I was fortunate enough to receive an email from LWDG with a photo of five beautiful Labrador dogs as one of the “Top Pics Of The Week!”. We immediately contacted the owner of those beautiful dogs, Emma Mather from Foxhope Gundogs, and she replied with the kindness and professionalism that best describes her. She provided her contact details and that moment was the beginning of a new adventure as well as of a new friendship.
We were very lucky! Emma was planning to have a litter of two of her top gundogs in the upcoming months. After introducing ourselves and our dogs online to her, and sharing our lifestyle in the Spanish countryside, she offered us one of the future puppies. Since the beginning, Emma kept us informed about any advance before and after her Lab gave birth to the litter, she even created a Facebook group to inform us about all relevant news of the litter and we even exchange messages with the different new owners.
Once the litter was born, Emma was kind enough to keep our puppy, Gomera, for four months due to international travel regulations. She took care of coordinating all the vaccines as well as paper work for the trip to Spain with her local vet, and started our puppy with home schooling, which helped Gomera to enjoy her new life since the first minute she landed in her new country. Of course, Emma has continued making follow up of Gomera’s new life and training progress.
Also, Emma has become our best support for improving some or our training techniques with our other Labs. Thanks to videoconference, we have been able to have virtual training sessions with her, sharing and discussing about different exercises, always receiving her best advice. Distance is never a problem for Emma!
And, this adventure continues…we have already booked a new puppy from one of her next litters coming very soon, and are starting to plan Emma’s visit to Spain to spend some time with us and our Labs.
Thank you Emma and Foxhope Gundogs for being part of our family, even living in Spain!"
